The Rialto Bridge at night
The bridge is a public footpath, and there is no ticket for it at any hour. In the evening the quays along the Grand Canal become the main place to be. You can cross the arch, look back from the water's edge or sit down to a small plate in a wine bar nearby.
Do not plan around a fixed lighting time or a light show. There is no schedule to rely on, so go when the sky darkens and see what the evening gives you. If you want company and food, an early evening Venice food tour starts at Rialto.

Our picks: evening walks around the Rialto
Our take: the sunset food walk is the right choice if you want dinner included. The Cannaregio evening ends with a Venetian meal, and the legends walk is a short, cheap way to see San Polo after dark.

Where to look at the bridge in the evening
Four places with a clear view.
Riva del Vin
The quay gives a view of the bridge and of the palaces Ca' Farsetti and Ca' Loredan. It is a good stop at dusk.
All viewpoints โRiva del Ferro
The opposite bank is the second classic angle. The arch stands between the two quays.
The bridge itself
On the stairs you look along the Grand Canal. Keep to the side and do not stop in the middle of the flow, and do not sit on the steps.
The Fondaco dei Tedeschi
The old merchants' house beside the bridge is closed inside, but you can see its facade from the water's edge. See the Fondaco page for the status.
